This past week a friend at work got a tattoo.Actually it was covering up a previous tattoo which was no longer desireable. What a great piece of work!Gone are the days when the folks sporting tatts ride motorcycles, have teeth missing or have just gotten out of prison. This tattoo was a sprinkle of stars in very vibrant colors and all sizes.Made me want one....or another one.I have the mediocre tattoos which were gotten just to say I have a tattoo. Now I want them covered up and made pieces of art.I never thought I would call tattoos art.Well never say never...it is kind of a post modern/cartoon like genere.
I started January going to a yoga class. This class is specifically for women who are over weight. At my first class,I did not know it was going to be hot yoga.I had no clue I was gonna sweat like I did.My belly started churning and I thought I was going to be sick.I cried all the way home. When I got home Jean asked me how I liked it.I told her I hated it....then I took a shower and went to bed.The next day,I woke up before the alarm, got up and felt better than I have in years.I went to work and talked about how much I just loved Yoga....I feel like I am going to therapy. How does yoga do that?
This past Sunday we went to the very first bout of the Charlotte Roller Girls.....yes...it was roller derby....never say never again...who would have thought? We had a blast! All the girls are either stay at home mothers or professional women and this is what they do.Some of their names were Ducky Longstockings,Emmy-Lou Herass,Nice as Ice,Lucy Kwepment. We decided to make up our own roller derby names:Paula was P funk u up;Jean was Jean the rolling machine..mine was Holy Roller...and I would wear a variation of a nun's habit on my helment.....of course I would probably get thrown out of the Catholic church with that one....the nuns I work with did like my Catholic girl gone bad t shirt....never say never a third time.
