Where'd my vacation go

I lost my vacation week.I know it was here somewhere.It was here a minute ago....now it is all gone.Why is it that those moments we schedule...we wait for ...anticipate for months...finally comes.Then in a flash;as the Bible says, in the twinkling of an eye,it is over.Dang that was fast!

I don't think I really know how to do vacations;especially at home.It took me at least until Tuesday to settle down and get in vacation mode.I did some fun things...went to the farmers market 3 times....2 times being my favorite tailgaters market...I went to the Apple store to take a class (maybe one day I will actually put pictures in this blog),got a massage,went out to eat with a couple of buddies and to a hooka bar with a couple more buddies...spent time swimming,playing with the new pup and read some too.Went to several bookstores,cleaned out closets and gave stuff away.Of course all the things I planned to do I didn't and all the things I had no clue I would do I did.I finally threw away my to do lists today after seeing I had not scratched off anything all week.

I think I need to move to Italy where they actually dock your pay and take your health insurance away if you do NOT take your allotted time off.For most people that figures to be at least 5 weeks.Being well rested makes one more productive,less sick.I think the Italians have something there.
