This is a picture of Harley sleeping in the sun.He is doing this while I read the late Valentine I got a couple of days ago.It tells the legend of St.Valentine.He is my kind of guy.I love the fact that he was a healer and ministered to spirit mind, body and heart.He used prayer but also herbs.Sometimes I like to think of myself as a healer.I use herbs and mantras and prayer..I deal with things of the heart,albeit,mostly mine!
Friday I went to a conference called Come To the Table(How people of Faith can Relieve hunger and Sustain Local Farms in NC). I bet St. Valentine would have attended......anyway,I was most impressed with the interest people have to start a more localized initiative to support farmers and feed the hungry.....lots of good info about community gardens being started in churches and communities.....the lunch we ate was all locally grown food.It was exquisite!.For some reason feeding the hungry rings true to me this LENT.....simple compassion was very evident....Ended the day at a wine tasting....on line...check it out:www.wineislandvillage.com
