This weekend Jean and I went to Black Sheep Cycles.I have driven by this place for a couple of years and always thought they serviced motorcycles.Nope it is a bicycle shop with a little edge to it (lots of tattooes walking around)...Jean and I both like retro/vintage stuff...whether it's mid-century modern dinnerware,vintage/folk art Halloween, furniture or bikes. The Halloween stuff is my obsession (bless Jean's heart)...but we both like the cool bikes we see from time to time at thrift stores..Black Sheep Cycles has some great retro bikes or are able to get them....they are in a bit of a warehouse with a black iron fence on one side...this is where their dogs play and there is a standing invitation for the customers to bring their own. They have a lounge area made up of retro furniture, they have wireless capabilities and coffee is available. We even checked out the online forum Black Sheep has.We had taken our bikes in for a tune up somewhere else and had been less than thrilled with the outcome.Black Sheep will be our bike people from now on.Jean and I decided we missed our bikes and wanted to start riding again.Last time I rode mine,I could barely do it because of a knee injury. Now I am happy to say I am pain free when riding and feel like a little kid again.Bikes do that.
On another note,I was honored to have seen Marcel Marceau in person 4 times in my life time.He was indeed the Master mime.Though I moved away from his style to a more organic form, there is still plenty of French influence in my style.Just like a musician has to learn scales, most mimes end up learning French mime stylized by Marceau. He died this weekend at the age of 84.His legacy will definitley live on in all the invisible walls and ropes pulled on the street and on stage.

Great vignette Gaye. I'm drinking beer from an invisible mug and leaning against an invisible bar. "three mimes walk into a bar ..." that should start something.
One mime says to the others,if a mime falls in the woods does he make a sound.
Fred this is right up there with can you hear the sound of one hand clap.
